Successful Transplant.
This fragrant rhododendron spent many happy years in the shade of a large oak tree. When the tree was removed in 2009, the scorching sun was not kind. It was clear that this rhodie would die in the new exposure. There was no place to plant it in the ground but there happened to be a large empty pot on site. I gave Jeanmaire instructions about transplanting, placement and aftercare, and she transplanted it herself with the help of her son. This plant has bloomed and thrived ever since in the container on the other (shadier) side of the yard.
“I love to work in the garden, but sometimes I want to be sure I’m doing the right thing. Ellyn’s advice has been so helpful to me over the years, especially with tree removals and neighboring construction bringing major changes to the garden.” – Jean H., San Francisco
